ARPA organisations understand that better than anyone: they work with a portfolio of boundary-pushing projects and bet on major societal and technological breakthroughs. And with huge results: partly thanks to ARPA organisations, we now have the internet, GPS, and the mRNA technology behind coronavirus vaccines.
America’s DARPA has been proving what’s possible for sixty years, and the United Kingdom and Germany recently started their own versions. And with the National Agency for Disruptive Innovation (NADI) that the Dutch government announced, the Netherlands finally gets its own ARPA.
The Delta Institute wrote the proposal together with the Ministry of Economic Affairs, and is now helping build the organisation that can lay the foundation for tomorrow’s technologies.
